VaultWare's Order Screen is an ideal example of the value of this innovation
The Order Screen menu is used to create a Rush Order or to modify a Scheduled Order, we first determine the type of order required.
- Validate that the customer contact is authorized at the appropriate level. Datasite employs a multi-level authorization hierarchy that requires each contact to provide an authorization code. A Datasite Authorization Card must be displayed when rush or emergency deliveries are made. A complete audit trail of access is maintained.
- Add the required tapes or tape containers to the order. Ideally, our customers provide the VaultWare bar code identifier when placing an order. However, with VaultWare, the desired item can also be located using the customer's inventory file. Each customer's entire off-site inventory and related history is available from a pull down screen, placing detailed inventory information is at our fingertips. Tape descriptions, last movement dates and in/out status are frequently used to determine which tapes are needed for retrieval.
- Define any special delivery instructions. If special handling is required, the customer simply instructs Datasite to modify the Instructions field for that particular order. The VaultWare Delivery Receipt is printed and the order is on its way.
