Barcode Labels
Bar code label ideally are placed on the tape spine or top of tape cartridge. Placement on the cases of DDS, AIT, DLT, SDLT and LTO tapes is also allowed. The bar code label provides; your account number, tape serial number and storage code alpha character. For example, account #1039's cartridge #08c, would appear:
Transmittal Forms
The VaultLink Web™ interface creates a Customer Transmittal form that is used as the initial audit step for DataSite's couriers. (See example) This document stipulates to the date of service, tape or container volume, material barcode labels, and content descriptions when applicable - return or cycle dates for your critical data. Our staff compares the Total Count quantity with actual quantity as well as comparing the # Label Numbers with the actual label number present. This initial audit step catches the occasional customer discrepancy and is the beginning of DataSite's multi-step quality control program.
A handwritten alternative Customer Transmittal Form is available as well. This two-part form provides both parties with a record of the transaction.
Account Inventory Reports
VaultLink Web™ Generated
Using the VaultLink Web™ interface users may extract their own data file extract in Excel as well as conduct searches by tape number, description, status, return date, last in, last out, program entry date, key field change logs and a complete history of each materials movement.
DataSite Generated Account Inventory Reports
Inventory status reports are available in three formats. Staff with a Gold or Silver level Account Access Card must make requests for reports.
Off-Site Inventory List
A listing of all containers or items in secure storage. This Listing will detail container or slotted tape codes, descriptions (if applicable) and return date status (if applicable).

A listing of all bar coded items in the system. This report will list both items at Datasite as well as items returned to the customer's site.
