The DataSite Story
In 1992 DataSite began as the dream of two young Seattle entrepreneurs. Long employed in senior management of the area’s largest records management company, they recognized a real need for a locally based company that would provide a more customer centric approach to serving the off-site data protection needs of the Puget Sound IT community.
And so DataSite Northwest was born. Dave Heric and Dale Mitchell pooled their limited resources and launched the company. Since launching the business in early 1993, DataSite’s media storage business has grown in exceptional ways. As the Seattle high tech sector has grown, so has DataSite.
In 2001, DataSite evolved into a significantly different company. Service options grew to include a records storage and document shredding division. With the addition of a 3rd business partner with years of experience in the field, DataSite confidently entered the marketplace. Doug Jordan served as the General Manager of the former Bekins Records Management operation throughout five western states and has a cumulative 23 years experience in the industry. Since the inception of the archives and destruction divisions, DataSite has experienced incredible growth serving over 1400 clients and finally outgrowing its original Seattle location in 2008. A second location was added in SeaTac with plans to consolidate from three locations to an expanded SeaTac footprint in 2011. With an expanding staff of well trained employees committed to exceptional, leading edge service, DataSite continues to grow.
On a more personal level, DataSite is a fun company. The three managing partners are all Seattle boys. The partners lead the company with humor, experience and a sense that if you’re not having fun, you’re doing something wrong.
We invite you to become part of the DataSite story.
Today DataSite boasts more than 1400 clients across all sectors of industry.
